3 historic activities coming to our Manorbier event.
Manorbier Castle is one of Wales' most enchanting locations, and in March 2025, it will be the venue for You Meet In A Tavern’s 5 day event where you can play D&D in a real castle. As part of this event we are doing our best to turn an already impressive site into a haven for fans of medieval entertainment and activities.
Alongside playing D&D we have some amazing entertainment, activities and food. Our guests can enjoy a full itinerary of fun, designed to bring to life an immersive world of history, fantasy, and fun. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for an unforgettable addition to your D&D adventure, we hope to have something for everyone to enjoy.
Here’s a rundown of the exciting activities that you can look forward to in March at our Play D&D in a real castle event at Manorbier Castle:
1. Medieval Archery
Step into the shoes of an archer from the past with Bowlore’s medieval archery range. You will be able to both observe demonstrations on the history and proper use of medieval bows, as well as trying you hand at this ancient craft, using traditional bows and arrows to hit the target. Whether you are a seasoned archer or a beginner, this archery activity is focused on a mix of authenticity and accessible fun. Throughout your time with us, you can enjoy both a fun challenge and a glimpse into the training that warriors of yore might have undergone. Perfect for those who want to test their precision and dexterity!
2. Sword Fighting and Combat Training
No medieval event would be complete without some hands-on sword fighting action! Bowlore will be providing live weapon demonstrations so that you can see how much damage some of the most iconic period weapons can really do. Then it is your turn to take part in Bowlore’s sword-school. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, our guests can learn the basics of medieval combat techniques. This activity is a fantastic way to get a taste of what it might have been like to engage in battle during the Middle Ages. A mix of martial arts and performance, the sword fighting activity provides both an educational and entertaining experience for our guests.
3. Medieval Armoury
When it comes to stepping into the past and immersing yourself in the thrilling world of medieval history, few things compare to holding a sword, testing the weight of armour, or inspecting the intricate craftsmanship of a battle-ready axe or helmet. That’s exactly what Bowlore brings to our events, where visitors have the chance to explore a wide range of medieval weapons and armour, all while learning about their historical significance and how they were used in battle.
Bowlore’s extensive collection is something you will enjoy whether you’re a history buff, a fan of fantasy tales, or simply curious about ancient weaponry.
Conclusion
